Proverbs 4:23
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Above all else we are to keep and guard our hearts.
The heart here is described as the wellspring of life this actually means it is the source of where life begins. Just like a well or spring it’s important to keep that source free from contamination; otherwise where it flows into will also become contaminated.
So it is with our hearts, being the source from where all things flow through. Our thoughts, beliefs, hopes and dreams our feelings and emotions are all filtered through our hearts.
The key is to guard our hearts from the negative sources of the enemy. Things like worry, fear, un-forgiveness, hurts, bitterness, doubt and unbelief, these are just some of the negative sources the enemy tries to put into our hearts and minds.
Is there anything inside your heart today that is stopping you from moving forward or having peace?
As we open our hearts and invite the Lord in, He will come and make His home within our hearts. He is just to forgive us and make us whole. Jesus longs to be the healer of our hearts.
